Three people died as a result of the accident in Tukums municipality on Sunday, the State Police reported.
At 15:17, a call was received in the Smārde parish of Tukums municipality, where a collision involving six vehicles occurred, one of which was a truck.
According to preliminary information, three people who were in a Toyota Hilux vehicle died. The police continue to work at the scene and are investigating the circumstances of the incident. Traffic at the accident site was blocked for several hours.
The State Police reminds that on Sunday, due to snowfall, traffic is difficult in many places in Latvia. The police urge drivers not to rush, to choose a speed appropriate to the road conditions, and to maintain a safe distance.
The State Fire and Rescue Service reported to the agency that on Sunday at 15:17, the service received a call in the Smārde parish of Tukums municipality, where a traffic accident occurred.
