The Tragic Fate of Two Brothers in Turne… They Burned Right in Their Home 0 13

A tape prohibiting entry to outsiders has been stretched around the burned private house. It is secured to both a nearby parked car and to beehives placed around the perimeter. Almost nothing remains of the building.

The call came to the rescuers shortly before three o'clock in the morning. The nearest neighbors were several hundred meters away, so it is likely that the fire was noticed only when the flames engulfed the entire house.

The alarm was first raised by one of the residents of the village, who has long suffered from insomnia. This time, her ailment helped her notice in time that a tragedy was occurring on the outskirts.

In a state of stress, the woman woke her family members. Her husband decided that they needed to call the firefighters, as, despite the high flames, there was no certainty that the services were already aware of the incident. It turned out that indeed — there was no information yet.

"It was so quiet... When I woke up, it was already too late," the neighbor recounts.

To extinguish the fire, the rescuers spent more than seven hours in Turne. The State Fire and Rescue Service reports that a one-story wooden residential house with an area of 120 square meters was on fire. Two people died in the blaze.

Locals say that the deceased had long been residents of the house. Since Turne has fewer than 100 inhabitants, the loss is felt particularly acutely — everyone knows each other. Neighbors say that two brothers lived there. According to one of the residents, one of them had visited her home the day before during the day.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and the police are investigating the causes of the fire.
