For comparison: throughout 2025, the State Police registered 1,262 violations for aggressive driving, of which 554 were for deliberately causing a skid.

At the beginning of the week, on January 6, the State Police recorded 18 aggressive drivers who deliberately caused skids in areas of potential vehicle movement.

All violations occurred in Riga. Most offenders were found at a roundabout near one of the shopping centers, and several other drivers were stopped after three cars consecutively deliberately skidded on Berzaunes Street.

Police officers stopped all ten drivers and brought them to administrative responsibility for aggressive driving.

The police remind that deliberately causing a skid is classified as aggressive driving. For aggressive driving, a vehicle driver is fined between 70 and 280 euros, and six penalty points are assigned.
