On the last day of 2025, ten people were injured in traffic accidents, the State Police reported to LETA.
On Wednesday, 103 traffic accidents were registered.
On Wednesday evening, traffic was blocked on the Liepaja Highway (A9) in Valgunde municipality near Tireli due to an accident.
Two cars were involved in the accident. According to preliminary information, three people were injured and taken to a local medical facility. The State Police is investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Nine drivers were detained for driving under the influence, and seven criminal cases were initiated. One criminal case was initiated for driving after consuming drugs.
Yesterday, 357 administrative protocols were issued for traffic violations, including 85 for speeding and 23 for aggressive driving.
