On Monday, two individuals attempted to leave Latvia, against whom exit bans are in effect, the State Border Guard informed the LETA agency.
Both individuals were identified at Riga Airport. One Lithuanian citizen was planning to fly to Egypt, while a Latvian citizen was heading to the United Kingdom.
Additionally, a minor Latvian citizen was prohibited from leaving for Turkey as she did not have notarized consent from at least one parent for independent travel out of the country.
At the same time, entry into Latvia was denied to a citizen of Uzbekistan who did not have a valid visa or residence permit, as well as to a citizen of Tajikistan who could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay.
A British citizen also attempted to enter Latvia, against whom an entry and stay ban in the Schengen Area is in effect.
For security reasons, entry into Latvia was denied to another citizen of Russia and one citizen of Ukraine.
Furthermore, violations of stay conditions were identified for six foreigners at border checkpoints.
During immigration control activities within the country, violations of entry or stay rules were found for four individuals — two Latvian citizens, one Russian citizen, and one Somali citizen.
