On Saturday afternoon, as the wind intensified, around 100 unplanned power outages were recorded in Latvia, according to summarized information from JSC 'Sadales tīkls'.
The most unplanned power outages — over 60 — have been recorded in Riga and its surroundings. Nearly 20 outages have been documented in the central part of Kurzeme, several more in the western part of Vidzeme, and two in the Ludza region.
Meanwhile, residents of Latvia received a message from rescuers. It states that dangerous wind gusts of up to 25–28 m/s are expected on Sunday night. The wind may tear off roofs, uproot trees, and bring down wires.
