A young woman named the code word, and the boy handed her all the cash.
The 15-year-old grandson of the People's Artist of Russia, Tatyana Vasilieva, became a victim of a cruel fraudulent scheme involving fake video calls, threats, and elements of psychological blackmail.
The teenager handed over all the family savings, intended for repairs and New Year celebrations, to an unknown girl. The deception began with a simple order for bottled water, after which the boy received a call supposedly from "Gosuslugi," and then from the "FSB," as reported by "Pod'yem." They claimed that 1.5 million rubles had disappeared from his parents' accounts, allegedly transferred to finance foreign armed forces.
The scammers played a cunning game with Grisha for an entire week. They displayed fake IDs, dressed in uniforms, and convinced the child that his parents would end up in prison if he did not help with the "investigation." At the same time, the teenager was strictly forbidden from telling adults about what was happening.
Grisha, who moved to Russia from Germany in 2022, had always been withdrawn and not inclined to communicate, so his relatives did not notice any alarming signs. At the appointed time, a young woman approached the Vasilievs' house, named the code word, and the boy handed her all the cash. It was only when the connection with the scammers was lost that the child realized he had been deceived.
The family immediately contacted the police. However, the scammer who received the money displayed a high level of preparation: she carefully avoided being captured by street cameras, covering her face. As a result, the investigation was unable to identify her from the surveillance footage. Grisha was called to the station to create a composite sketch. According to his description, she was a young girl of Eastern appearance.
Vasilieva herself believes that it is unlikely the money will be recovered. "They acted through third parties, used artificial intelligence to enhance the credibility of the calls. This is no longer just fraud - it is an organized criminal operation," the actress noted. She called for stricter penalties for such crimes against minors, especially when methods akin to psychological abuse are employed.
