On the morning of December 18, Polish border guards in Podlaskie detained seventeen foreigners. Young men illegally crossed the border between Poland and Lithuania, reports the Polish Border Guard, writes LA.LV.
The patrol of the border post in Sejny, together with soldiers of the Territorial Defense Forces, detained seventeen migrants in the Puniškė municipality near the border who illegally crossed the Polish-Lithuanian border.
The foreigners had documents from a reception center in Latvia. They were attempting to reach Germany, France, and Italy.
After the completion of procedures, the detainees will be returned to Lithuania.
Since the introduction of temporary border control between Poland and Lithuania, nearly 230 people who illegally entered Poland have been returned to Lithuania.
