On November 24, the Security Police (SP) transferred a criminal case to the prosecutor's office against a Latvian citizen for prohibited work with Russian companies in violation of EU sanctions against Russia, the LETA agency was informed by the SP.

The Security Police initiated a criminal case against this individual on August 8 of this year on suspicion of violating EU sanctions.

During the investigation, the service found that the Latvian citizen had entered into employment contracts with several Russian companies, where he held the positions of general director and director and directly provided prohibited economic and tax consulting services.

The Security Police emphasizes that in response to the war unleashed by Russia in Ukraine, providing services for economic, management, and tax consulting to companies registered in Russia is prohibited for residents of EU countries.
