Vilnius Airport announced on Saturday evening the suspension of operations due to signs of weather balloon launches from Belarus.
Vilnius Airport reported that the airspace over the city has been closed "due to a hybrid attack by Belarus against Lithuania, civil aviation, and society, with the fixation of navigation markers typical for hot air balloons in areas hazardous for aviation."
The restrictions will last from 18:06 to 21:05 local time, the statement said.
"Passengers whose flights have been affected by the restrictions or canceled can contact their airlines directly for more detailed information," they added.
The last time the operation of Vilnius Airport was disrupted due to weather balloons was on Wednesday evening and Thursday night. Vilnius Airport was closed three times during the night then.
