The law-breaking citizen was detained in the municipality of Malnava. To enter Latvia, he damaged a stationary border fence.

A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee for illegal crossing of the external state border and for destruction or damage to someone else's property.

This is not the first foreigner to make holes in the Latvian fence. In early October, border guards detained a citizen of Cuba and, separately, another citizen of the Russian Federation, who illegally crossed the state border from the side of Russia.
