Today in Riga, a high-risk fire broke out in the Plavnieki neighborhood, reports bb.lv's own correspondent.
The fire occurred around 11 a.m. in a 9-story building on Dravnieku Street. An apartment on the top floor caught fire.
Firefighters arrived promptly at the scene and extinguished the fire by 12:00. A telescopic ladder was used in the firefighting efforts.
About ten units of special vehicles arrived at the scene – fire trucks, ambulances, gas service vehicles, and police.
Medics took a woman living in that apartment to the hospital. Additionally, a child from a neighboring apartment was also taken to the clinic.
