The prosecution has assigned the man probation supervision for violence against his ex-wife, according to the ruling.
The man is charged under the Criminal Code for cruelty and violence against a relative.
In the summer of this year, the man was intoxicated in a room he rented in a service hotel along with his ex-wife, with whom he has an ongoing intimate relationship.
In a fit of anger and jealousy, he made insulting and rude remarks towards the woman, and then slapped her on the cheek, causing her to hit her head against the door frame.
Continuing his actions, the man slapped her again on the cheek and pushed her onto the bed next to them. He then grabbed the woman by the arm, turned her onto her stomach, and sat on top of her, holding her arm behind her back.
The man then punched the woman in the shoulder with his fist, delivering no more than five blows, struck her once in the neck, and pressed his knee against her neck.
The crime was committed in the presence of a child.
The accused fully admitted his guilt and expressed remorse for his actions.
The prosecution imposed probation supervision for a period of one year, 11 months, and 26 days.
