Yesterday, on the anniversary of the proclamation of the Latvian state, ten drivers of cars and motorcycles in an intoxicated state were caught on the roads, reports the State Police.
In six cases, criminal cases have been initiated, while in the other four, administrative cases.
In one day, 98 traffic accidents were registered on the roads of Latvia, with 17 people injured in 13 accidents, including three pedestrians and one cyclist.
On Tuesday, six people were injured in two accidents on the Vidzeme Highway. Around noon, in the Ligatne municipality, three people were injured as a result of a collision between a truck and a passenger bus, and shortly thereafter, three people were injured in a collision involving four cars nearby.
Over the past day, the State Police issued 598 protocols for administrative violations in the field of traffic, including 231 for speeding.
