At night, rescue services were needed for the passengers of a bus that went off the road, reports the State Fire and Rescue Service (GPSS).
The call to the scene of the incident in the Likšneni parish of the Augšdaugava region, where a bus with passengers went off the roadway, was received by the rescue service at 00:51.
Rescuers helped 26 passengers get out of the bus. According to GPSS representative Viktoria Gribuste, there is no information about any injuries.
The GPSS completed its work at the scene of the incident at 01:24.
In the past 24 hours, 84 road traffic accidents have been registered in the country, reported the State Police. As a result of the accidents, four people were injured.
A total of 514 protocols were drawn up for various traffic violations, including 201 for speeding and seven for aggressive driving.
Seven administrative and six criminal proceedings have been initiated for driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
