In the past 24 hours, twelve drivers of vehicles in a state of alcohol intoxication have been stopped on the roads of Latvia, according to summarized operational information from the State Police.
In nine cases, criminal proceedings have been initiated for driving a vehicle while in a state of severe alcohol intoxication. Three more drivers have been held administratively liable, as their blood alcohol concentration did not exceed 1.5 per mille.
A total of 67 road traffic accidents have been registered in the country, five of which involved injuries. Seven people were injured in these incidents, and there were no fatalities.
In the past 24 hours, 519 administrative violations have been recorded in road traffic, including 257 cases of exceeding the permitted speed limit.
