The State Police detained a man for hooligan actions on public transport in Riga, including insulting a ticket inspector; the incident was filmed and later published on the TikTok platform, reports LETA, citing the State Police.

On the evening of September 17, on bus route No. 49, traveling from the 'Vaidavas iela' stop towards Dauderstala, a man born in 1976, who was in a state of alcohol intoxication, along with an unidentified individual, was engaging in hooligan actions.

He used obscene language and threatened a female ticket inspector from the company 'Rīgas satiksme' while she was performing her official duties, while the second individual recorded the incident on video and also insulted the inspector. Shortly after the incident, the video was published on the social network TikTok, provoking a wide public reaction.

It was also revealed that one of the passengers—a minor teenager—attempted to defend the inspector and stop the hooligan actions; however, the man then attacked this teenager as well.

Initially, an administrative process was initiated regarding the incident, but on October 9, a decision was made to initiate a criminal case. On October 16, the man was detained.

He admitted his guilt and had previously come to the attention of the police for property crimes.
