A total of 2.507 million tons of cargo were transshipped at the Ventspils port terminals in the first four months of this year, which is 24.1% less than in the corresponding period last year, according to information from the Ministry of Transport.
In the first four months of this year, 1.532 million tons of cargo were dispatched from the Ventspils port (-18.8%), while the volume of received cargo decreased by 31.2%, amounting to 975,000 tons.
During the first four months of this year, 1.529 million tons of liquid cargo were transshipped at the Ventspils port terminals (-17.9%), 273,500 tons of bulk cargo, which is three times less, and 704,300 tons of general cargo (-13.7%).
In the first four months of this year, 1.464 million tons of oil products were transshipped (-13.9%), ro-ro cargo, or "roll on/roll off" - 574,400 tons (+9%), and timber - 118,900 tons (+29.2%).
It has already been reported that 8.533 million tons of cargo were transshipped at the Ventspils port terminals in 2025, which is 3.6% more than in 2024.
By cargo transshipment volume, the Ventspils port was the second largest port in Latvia last year.
