The American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has ceased production of the Model S sedan and the Model X crossover at its factory in Fremont, California. The company announced this on the social media platform X.

"The last Model S and the last Model X were produced at the Fremont factory," the publication stated. The company noted that it had produced the Model S for 14 years and the Model X for 11 years.

At the end of January, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced plans to retrofit the Fremont factory for the production of humanoid robots called Optimus.

The company also confirmed that it intends to start production of the robots by the end of 2026 and to invest $2 billion in the technology company developing artificial intelligence, xAI.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos in January, Musk stated that Tesla plans to open sales of Optimus to the general public by the end of 2027. He also expressed the opinion that in the future there will be "billions" of humanoid robots in the world, which will enable an abundance of goods and services.
