In January and February of this year, 1.095 million tons of cargo were transshipped at Ventspils port terminals, which is 27.6% less than in the same period of 2025, according to data from the Ministry of Transport.
Transshipment of liquid cargo in Ventspils amounted to 605.8 thousand tons (-40.4%) in January and February, compared to the previous year, bulk cargo - 154.4 thousand tons (-24.9%), general cargo - 334.8 thousand tons (+15.5%).
Oil products transshipped over the two months totaled 572.1 thousand tons (-39.5%), roll on/roll off cargo - 267.8 thousand tons (+6.4%), while coal was not transshipped at Ventspils port this year.
In 2025, the cargo turnover of Ventspils port was 8.533 million tons, which is 3.6% more than in 2024.
Ventspils port is the second largest in Latvia by the volume of transshipped cargo.
