The whole world is being advised to return to working from home, reports The Guardian.
The publication reports that the International Energy Agency (IEA) recommended governments to reduce speed limits on highways and urged workers to use carpooling or, ideally, work from home to counter the sharp rise in oil prices and the impending fuel shortage caused by the conflict in the Middle East.
It was also recommended that all countries consider restricting vehicle access to designated areas in major cities.
The IEA also called for a cessation of air travel and gas stoves to save fuel amid rising energy prices due to the war in the Middle East.
"The war in the Middle East is creating a serious energy crisis, including the largest disruption in the history of the global oil market. In the absence of a swift resolution, the consequences for energy markets and economies will become increasingly severe," said IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol.
