Netflix will pay up to $600 million for Ben Affleck's AI firm

American streaming service Netflix Inc. has acquired InterPositive, a company specializing in AI technologies for film production.

The amount of the deal is not disclosed; however, Bloomberg, citing informed sources, reports that Netflix will pay up to $600 million.

According to the agency's sources, the valuation of the company was below the stated amount, but the owners of InterPositive may receive additional payments if certain performance metrics are achieved.

InterPositive was founded by actor and director Ben Affleck in 2022 with the support of investment firm RedBird Capital Partners. It develops AI technologies that assist in editing and assembling already shot material. The company's products were notably used by director David Fincher during the filming of "The Adventures of Cliff Booth" starring Brad Pitt.

Affleck has won the Oscar twice - for Best Original Screenplay in 1998 ("Good Will Hunting," alongside Matt Damon) and for Best Picture in 2013 ("Argo").
