In Latvia, the average price of diesel fuel rose by 15.8% last week, while the average price of 95-octane gasoline increased by 5.4%, according to data from the European Commission.
In Latvia, the average price of 95-octane gasoline from March 2 to March 8 was 1.633 euros per liter. A week earlier, its average price was 1.55 euros per liter, and the week before that, it was 1.532 euros per liter.
The average price of diesel fuel last week in Latvia was 1.793 euros per liter. A week earlier, a liter of diesel fuel cost 1.548 euros, and the week before that, it was 1.528 euros.
Last week, compared to the beginning of the year - the week from December 29, 2025, to January 4, 2026 - the average price of 95-octane gasoline in Latvia increased by 8.4%, while the average price of diesel fuel rose by 20.3%.
As reported, in the largest gas station networks in Latvia, the average price of diesel fuel has increased by about 25% since the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, while 95-octane gasoline has risen by 7-9%.
