A New Self-Service Laundry Will Open in Sigulda

Residents of Sigulda will soon have access to a new everyday service — the self-service laundry "Laundromat" will begin operations in the city.

The self-service laundry provides an opportunity to quickly and easily take care of laundry using professional washing and drying machines. This solution is especially useful for those who want to wash a large volume of textiles or items that are usually difficult to handle at home. For example, blankets, pillows, mattress covers, or curtains often do not fit in regular household washing machines, while professional equipment makes washing them significantly easier.

The equipment in the new laundry allows for washing up to 17 kilograms of laundry in one cycle, which greatly simplifies laundry care for families or people with an active lifestyle. The large capacity allows several items to be processed at once, thereby reducing the number of washing cycles. Additionally, modern dryers provide quick results, so the entire process — washing and drying — usually takes about one hour.

"The new laundry will be located at L. Paegles Street, 3, in a place where several important services for city residents are already concentrated. This means that laundry can be conveniently combined with other everyday tasks," said Marketing Manager Monta Purkalne.

More and more people are choosing this method of laundry care for practical reasons. Washing a large number of items at home often takes a lot of time, and not everyone has spacious washing machines or dryers. Professional equipment in self-service laundries allows for processing a significantly larger volume of laundry at once, ensuring effective washing and drying.

An important factor is also the cost. Caring for large textile items at a dry cleaner often turns out to be quite expensive, while at a self-service laundry it can be done significantly cheaper. Calculations show that a family of four washing blankets, jackets, curtains, and pillows in this way can save over 250 euros a year compared to regular use of dry cleaning services.

The company "Laundromat" has been operating in Latvia since 2022 and has been actively expanding its operations in recent years. This year, it plans to continue expanding the network so that by the end of the year, self-service laundries will be available in approximately 20 cities across the country. This will allow even more residents to access the service near their homes.

At the same time, the company is developing its operations in other Baltic countries — self-service laundries have already started operating in Lithuania and Estonia.
