Gas operator Conexus has terminated the employment of four citizens of Russia and Belarus

The operator of the unified gas transmission and storage system, JSC "Conexus Baltic Grid", has terminated labor relations with four citizens of Russia and Belarus in accordance with the national security law, said the company's representative Dace Baltabola.

She added that the employees were paid all compensations for worked time and unused vacation in accordance with labor law.

Baltabola emphasized that the activities of "Conexus" are strictly regulated by legislation, and safety is a priority for the company to ensure the protection of critical infrastructure and business continuity.

Representatives of "Latvenergo", "Augstsprieguma tīkls" and "Gaso" informed the LETA agency that there are no citizens of Russia and Belarus working in these companies.

According to the national security law, citizens of Russia and Belarus cannot work in critical infrastructure enterprises if the work involves access to information or technological equipment important for the functioning of critical infrastructure.

Such work is only permitted in exceptional cases and with special permission from security authorities.
