Завод в Набережных Челнах продолжает работу.

The tractor can transport up to 91.5 tons of cargo as part of a road train.

The latest model of the heavy K5 family, the KAMAZ-65956 tractor unit, has rolled off the main assembly line of the KAMAZ automotive plant.

The vehicle is currently undergoing testing on the company's test benches, which is an important stage before the launch of mass production.

The vehicle is largely unified with the already produced KAMAZ-65955 in terms of engine, electrical equipment, exhaust systems, pneumatics, and fuel system. This unification allows for reduced production costs and simplifies maintenance, as well as preparation for mass production scheduled for 2026.

Distinctive features of the new model include an original design of the rear fenders on a special bracket, a higher fifth wheel, and an extended wheelbase intended for platform installation. Thanks to these features, the tractor can transport up to 91.5 tons of cargo and up to 80 tons of sand or gravel as part of a road train, making it in demand at industrial sites, construction sites, and quarries.

The KAMAZ-65956 is equipped with a 560-horsepower R6 engine, a 16-speed manual transmission, rear drive axles, and a 6x4 wheel formula. A 600-liter fuel tank increases the vehicle's autonomy, allowing it to cover long distances without refueling. The new model is designed not only for the Russian market but is also planned for export to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan.

K5 generation vehicles are already represented in five families - long-haul, transport, heavy, all-wheel drive, and medium-duty, each of which includes several models and configurations.

On May 6, 2022, against the backdrop of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, KAMAZ was added to Canada's sanctions list. On June 3, 2022, KAMAZ was included in the European Union's sanctions lists. Previously, KAMAZ was added to the sanctions list due to its affiliation with the Rostec corporation, which was sanctioned due to Russia's involvement in the war in Donbas. On June 28, 2022, KAMAZ, along with nine subsidiaries and CEO Kogogin, was included in the U.S. sanctions list "for activities or work in the defense sector of the Russian economy"; in particular, the U.S. Treasury noted that KAMAZ vehicles were used by the Russian military during the attack on Ukraine. On similar grounds, KAMAZ has been included in the sanctions lists of the United Kingdom, Japan, Switzerland, Australia, Ukraine, and New Zealand.
