It will now be possible to reach the very western part of Germany.

The Czech railway company Leo Express, a subsidiary of the Spanish national operator Renfe, plans to launch direct trains from Frankfurt am Main in Germany to Przemyśl in Poland, near the border with Ukraine, in 2026.

According to Railmarket.com, the train route will start in Przemyśl, which has become the main gateway to the world for many Ukrainians since the onset of the full-scale war with Russia.

On its way, it will also pass through Polish cities such as Rzeszów, Tarnów, Kraków, Katowice, and Tychy. The train will then enter the Czech Republic, making stops in Bohumín, Ostrava, Olomouc, Pardubice, Prague, Kralupy nad Vltavou, Ústí nad Labem, and Děčín.

In Germany, stops are planned in Bad Schandau, Dresden, Leipzig, Weimar, Erfurt, Fulda, Hanau, Offenbach, Frankfurt am Main, and Frankfurt Airport.

The total length of the route exceeds 1300 kilometers. The first train from "Przemyśl to Frankfurt am Main" is expected to depart on June 25, 2026.

Ticket prices between the final stations start from 10 euros. Initially, tickets will be offered without reserved seating; however, starting in January, Leo Express plans to introduce an option with full seat reservations and business class. Passengers who purchase tickets without prior reservation will be assigned a seat of their choice after the reservation is activated.

Leo Express will operate this route using its existing fleet of trains, offering onboard Wi-Fi, power outlets, air conditioning, and catering services.
