Billionaire Elon Musk has become the first person whose net worth has exceeded $700 billion. This was reported by Forbes magazine.
The publication explained the billionaire's capital growth by the Delaware Supreme Court's decision made on Friday to restore the entrepreneur's right to receive stock options from the company Tesla, which he leads.
As a result, the entrepreneur's net worth increased by $139 billion, reaching $749 billion.
Musk ranks first in the Forbes billionaire list. Following him by a significant margin are Google co-founder Larry Page ($252.7 billion), chairman of the board of the technology company Oracle Larry Ellison ($242.8 billion), and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($239.4 billion).
The previous record also belonged to Musk. On December 15, he became the first person in history with a net worth of $600 billion.
