The administrator of the liquidated bank Latvijas krājbanka returned assets totaling 679 euros in November this year, according to a report published in the official publication Latvijas Vēstnesis, LETA writes.
The entire amount returned in November came from previously issued loans.
Thus, for the 11 months of this year, the administrator of Latvijas krājbanka returned assets totaling 7,392 euros.
At the same time, the expenses for the bank's insolvency process in November 2025 amounted to 16,355 euros. Of this: – 12,862 euros for maintaining the property of the credit institution and necessary premises during the insolvency, – 3,459 euros for employee salaries and severance payments, – 34 euros for the remuneration of the administrator and his assistant.
In total, for the 11 months of this year, the expenses for the insolvency process amounted to 146,362 euros.
At the end of November this year, the debt of Latvijas krājbanka to the Deposit Guarantee Fund was 164.426 million euros — the same as at the end of 2024. Other claimed creditor demands amounted to 264.182 million euros.
The claims of Latvijas krājbanka for demand deposits from other credit institutions at the end of November amounted to 2.409 million euros. The value of movable and immovable property intended for sale was estimated at 1,360 euros.
The bank's assets at the end of November 2025 amounted to 2.473 million euros, while at the end of 2024 they were 4.646 million euros.
The bank's equity at the end of November 2025 was negative — minus 461.567 million euros.
As reported by the LETA agency, the Riga District Court declared Latvijas krājbanka insolvent on December 23, 2011, and on May 8, 2012, it satisfied the application of the bank's administrator — the auditing company KPMG Baltics — to initiate bankruptcy proceedings.
The Council of the Financial and Capital Market Commission (FCMC), which has been part of the Bank of Latvia since 2023, decided on November 21, 2011, to suspend the provision of all financial services by the bank. This decision was based on the identified shortage of funds. The credit institution's license for Latvijas krājbanka was revoked by the FCMC on May 10, 2012.
