Industrial production in Latvia surged by 4% over 10 months

Industrial production in Latvia increased by 4% over the first ten months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau.

The growth in the manufacturing sector was 5.7%, while there was a decline of 4.7% in electricity and gas supply, and an increase of 14.1% in mining and quarrying.

In October 2025 compared to October 2024, industrial production, according to seasonally adjusted data in comparable prices, increased by 8.8%. Specifically, production in the manufacturing sector grew by 9.5%, while production in mining and quarrying decreased by 16.1%, and electricity and gas supply saw an increase of 10.1%.

The volume of industrial production increased in the three largest sectors of manufacturing: in wood and wood products manufacturing, the growth was 7%, in food production - 12.9%, and in the production of fabricated metal products, excluding machinery and equipment, - 12.7%.

The volume of industrial production also increased in the production of motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers by 32.4%, in the production of computers, electronic and optical equipment by 29.2%, in the production of machinery, mechanisms, and tools by 16.1%, in the production of non-metallic mineral products by 10.6%, in the production of electrical equipment by 9.4%, and in the production of chemicals and chemical products by 7.9%.

Conversely, production volume decreased in beverage manufacturing by 6.7%, in printing and reproduction of recorded media by 3.3%, and in furniture manufacturing by 2.8%.

In October of this year compared to September, the turnover of the manufacturing industry, according to seasonally adjusted data in comparable prices, increased by 0.8%. In the domestic market, turnover increased by 2.4%, while exports decreased by 0.1%, including a decline of 1.1% in the eurozone and an increase of 0.8% outside the eurozone.
