The budget airline flydubai, which is part of the Emirates Group (UAE), has signed an agreement to purchase 150 A321neo aircraft from Airbus with a total catalog value of $19.5 billion during the airshow in Dubai.
This is the first major contract received by Airbus at the airshow, notes Bloomberg. It is also the first order from flydubai to the European manufacturer - currently, it only operates Boeing Co. aircraft.
Earlier, agency sources reported that flydubai could place a large order at the airshow, but it was expected to be split between Airbus and Boeing.
Since the beginning of 2025, Airbus's market capitalization has increased by a third, reaching €163.5 billion.
