In Latvia, industrial production prices in September 2025 compared to the same month in 2024 decreased by 0.4%, and the country joined the group of 11 European Union (EU) states where a decline was recorded, according to data on products sold in the local market published on Wednesday by the EU statistical office "Eurostat."
The sharpest decline in September was in Luxembourg (-4.4%), followed by Portugal (-3.7%) and Ireland (-2.8%). In Lithuania, industrial producer prices were 1.6% lower than in the same month last year.
Meanwhile, the highest growth in EU countries in September was recorded in Bulgaria (+9.1%), Romania (+6.9%), and Sweden (+4.9%). In Estonia, producer prices increased by 1.2%.
In EU countries, producer prices in September compared to the same month last year increased on average by 0.1%, while in the eurozone they decreased by 0.2%.
In turn, compared to August, producer prices in both the EU and the eurozone decreased by 0.1%.
Compared to the previous month, producer prices in September fell in 13 EU countries, with the most significant declines noted in Bulgaria and Finland (both -0.7%), as well as in Cyprus, Hungary, and Poland (both -0.5%). Producer price increases in monthly comparison were registered in ten countries, but they were most noticeable in Romania (+1.2%), Estonia (+0.7%), and Lithuania (+0.4%). In Greece, Latvia, Malta, and the Netherlands, prices in September remained at the level of the previous month.
