NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that the Alliance countries intend to significantly strengthen cooperation in the defense industry. According to him, this should serve as a signal to Moscow that NATO surpasses Russia in military potential.
NATO countries intend to significantly enhance cooperation in the defense industry. This was stated by the Secretary General of the Alliance, Mark Rutte, while speaking in Washington.
He noted that there are about 3,000 defense industry enterprises operating in Turkey that are involved in implementing projects across NATO.
Speaking about the upcoming Alliance summit, Rutte announced that one of its key events will be Defense Industry Day.
"At the summit, we will hold a major Defense Industry Day. You will see a huge number of new contracts, letters of intent, as well as the signing of major agreements," he said.
According to the Secretary General, these steps should demonstrate NATO's determination to both the citizens of the Alliance countries and Russia.
"This will send a clear signal to our billion citizens in NATO. We are indeed doing what is necessary," Rutte emphasized.
He also addressed Russia, stating that the Alliance intends to maintain an advantage in defense production.
"This is also a signal to the Russians: we know what you are doing, and we are better at it than you are," said the NATO Secretary General.
