For the first time, a bill will feature the portrait of a person who is still alive.
The Trump administration wants to create a $250 bill featuring his portrait — WP
According to The Washington Post, if this idea is realized, Donald Trump will become the first person in 150 years to appear on a dollar bill while still alive. Sources from the newspaper indicate that the authors of the initiative are U.S. Treasury Secretary Brandon Beach and his advisor Mike Brown. They even presented mock-ups: on one of them, Trump’s face is depicted in the center of the bill, alongside the signatures of the President of the United States and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
The Secretary of the Treasury himself confirmed the preparation of the bill featuring Trump at a press conference at the White House, as reported by RTVI US. Bessent clarified that a bill lifting the ban on depicting living people on U.S. currency is under consideration in both chambers of Congress.
