A Russian drone during a nighttime attack on Ukraine entered Romanian airspace and crashed into a residential building in the city of Galați. As a result, two people were injured.
A Russian drone crashed into a multi-apartment residential building in the border Romanian city of Galați at night, reported the Ministry of Defense of Romania and the country's emergency services.
According to Romanian authorities, two people were injured.
The Romanian Ministry of Defense stated that on the night of May 28 to 29, Russia again attacked civilian and infrastructure facilities in Ukraine near the river border with Romania using drones.
"One of these drones entered Romanian airspace, was tracked by radar to the southern part of Galați, and crashed into the roof of a multi-apartment building. As a result of the impact, a fire broke out," the ministry's statement said.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force reported an attack by Russian drones on the Odesa region in the direction of the city of Reni. This city is located on the Ukrainian-Romanian border. The straight-line distance between Reni and the Romanian Galați is about 20 kilometers.
The circumstances of the incident are still being investigated by Romanian authorities. No information about serious damage has been reported so far.
