At popular resorts Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, and El Quseir, Egyptian authorities have strengthened security measures following an increase in shark sightings off the Red Sea coast. To protect tourists on the beaches, the number of lifeguards has been increased and patrols along the coastline have been organized.

With the opening of the tourist season at the Egyptian resorts of Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, and El Quseir, there has been an increase in shark sightings attracted to shallow waters by schools of fish.

As reported by the Arab publication "Al Arabiya," in response to this, the Egyptian authorities have urgently strengthened security measures on the Red Sea coast.

According to the new regulations, the administration of each hotel is required to ensure the constant presence of a qualified lifeguard on the towers.

Additionally, regular patrols of motorboats have been organized along the coastline, and environmental protection agencies have begun capturing potentially dangerous predators.

The sharp increase in measures was prompted by the recent sighting of a two-meter tiger shark near the El Quseir resort. This incident led to the temporary closure of local beaches for swimming and diving.

The authorities decided to capture and subsequently destroy the detected animal, which caused dissatisfaction and disputes among some tourists concerned about the methods of protecting the ecosystem.

According to the news agency, the predators are approaching the shore in search of a food source, creating a direct threat to the safety of vacationers.

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism hopes that the prompt introduction of patrols and the involvement of lifeguards will normalize the situation on the beaches in the near future.

Egyptian authorities are trying to maintain the safety of the tourist season amid an increase in encounters with marine predators. Meanwhile, methods of dealing with sharks have already sparked discussions among vacationers and environmentalists concerned about potential interference with the Red Sea ecosystem.
