After a large-scale Russian attack on Kyiv, the death toll has risen to 21 people. A Russian missile destroyed part of a multi-story residential building, and rescuers continue to clear the rubble in search of people.

Kyiv has experienced one of the heaviest attacks in recent months. After the overnight strike by Russian forces, the death toll in the Ukrainian capital has risen to at least 21 people, including three children.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, another 45 people were injured.

The most severe consequences were recorded in the Darnytsia district of Kyiv, where the Russian strike partially destroyed a multi-story residential building.

According to rescuers, 18 apartments were destroyed. Part of the building was literally sliced from the first to the ninth floor by the impact.

People may still be trapped under the rubble.

A large-scale rescue operation is ongoing at the site: about 170 rescuers and more than 50 units of equipment are involved in the debris removal.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that damage in Kyiv has been recorded in approximately 20 locations.

Residential buildings, a school, a veterinary clinic, and other civilian infrastructure facilities were affected.

"The Russian missile strike literally leveled a residential building to the ground," Zelensky stated in an evening address.

The police reported that among those found under the rubble were three men, three women, and one girl.

At the same time, other regions of Ukraine were also subjected to attacks. Reports of casualties are coming from the Odesa, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 675 strike drones and 56 missiles at Ukraine within a day.

Ukrainian air defense claimed to have intercepted 652 drones and 41 missiles.

The scale of the attack shows how intense the air war remains: drones and missiles are launched simultaneously to overload air defense systems and strike civilian infrastructure.

Zelensky again urged international partners not to ignore what is happening.

"Those who believe that the war is nearing its end do not act this way," emphasized the President of Ukraine.

He separately reported that in Kherson, a Russian drone attacked a UN vehicle. According to Zelensky, the strike was intentional, but the people in the car were not harmed.

Rescue operations in Kyiv continue, and the death toll may still rise.
