The Federal Bureau of Investigation has announced a reward of $200,000 for information that will help apprehend a former employee of the intelligence division of the U.S. Air Force, who is suspected of espionage for Iran.
On Thursday, May 14, the FBI published a notice offering a reward of $200,000 for information that will help locate and apprehend Monica Witt, a former intelligence specialist in the U.S. Air Force, who was accused of espionage on behalf of Iran in 2019.
The FBI suspects that she may still be assisting Iran.
Witt worked in counterintelligence at the Office of Special Investigations of the U.S. Air Force. From 2003 to 2008, she had assignments in the Middle East.
It is believed that she was recruited during that time and subsequently provided Iran with valuable information that jeopardized one of the American intelligence officers.
