Peskov said that both Russian and American companies could benefit from a number of joint investment and economic projects.
Russia is interested in joint economic projects with the United States if Washington stops linking trade relations with a peace agreement on Ukraine. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, writes Reuters.
Peskov said that both Russian and American companies could potentially benefit from a number of joint investment and economic projects.
"To the extent that the American side is willing to separate the prospects for normalizing trade and economic relations from the resolution of the situation in Ukraine, or to the extent that the situation in Ukraine is resolved, we hope that a path will open for the implementation of a whole range of economic projects," he said.
Peskov also stated that for full-scale peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia to begin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky must order the Armed Forces of Ukraine to leave the territory of the 'Russian regions'.
Earlier, Putin spoke about the potential for joint development of vast mineral reserves in the Arctic by Russia and the USA, as well as the possibility of implementing projects in Alaska. His investment representative Kirill Dmitriev even proposed the construction of a railway tunnel under the Bering Strait to connect the two countries.
However, Russia remains under extensive US sanctions, mainly related to the war. Trump's efforts to end it have not yet yielded a breakthrough, although both he and Putin have stated in recent days that they believe the end of the conflict is near after more than four years of intense fighting.
Russia-US Relations
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused the USA of not hiding its desire to control gas transit through Ukraine. He also stated that the USA plans to buy the "Nord Stream" pipelines from Europeans for a pittance in order to restore them and "dictate their own gas prices." He also accused the USA of attempting to establish control over oil cooperation that Venezuela previously conducted with "Rosneft."
Lavrov also reported that currently "no joint projects between Russia and the USA are being implemented.
