An American court has publicly released a handwritten note, allegedly written by Jeffrey Epstein. The authenticity of the document has not been officially established.
Federal Judge Kenneth Karas of the U.S. District Court in White Plains, New York, unsealed a handwritten note, allegedly written by American financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, on Wednesday, May 6, DW reports.
The judge granted a request from The New York Times (NYT), filed a week earlier. The Manhattan District Attorney's Office did not present any objections, stating in a letter to the judge that "there is a clear public interest in the circumstances surrounding Epstein's death."

Content of Epstein's Note
"They investigated my case for months - FOUND NOTHING!!!" - the handwritten text begins on a scrap of paper torn from a notebook. "It is a pleasure to choose the moment for farewell myself," it continues. The note ends with the words: "What do you want me to do - cry!! NO JOY. NOT WORTH IT!!" (the last words are underlined). The New York Times has not confirmed the authenticity of the document. The U.S. Department of Justice stated that the agency has never seen it.
Epstein's cellmate - former police officer from Briarcliff Manor, New York, Nicholas Tartaglione - told the newspaper that he found the note in a graphic novel in July 2019 after Epstein was discovered unconscious with a piece of fabric around his neck.
Tartaglione handed the document to his lawyers, fearing that Epstein would continue to accuse him of assault: initially, Epstein had reported this to the prison administration, but later changed his testimony, saying he "never had problems" with his cellmate. Tartaglione's lawyers, according to court documents, established the authenticity of the note, although the method of verification is not disclosed.
Epstein's Death
Epstein emerged alive from the first incident in July 2019, but on August 10, 2019, he was found dead at the age of 66 in the now-closed Metropolitan Correctional Center in lower Manhattan. The New York City medical examiner ruled the death a suicide. However, years of revelations about security violations in the facility have spawned numerous theories that Epstein was murdered.
Who is Jeffrey Epstein
According to the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice, Epstein sexually abused over a thousand minors and young women, some of whom he allegedly trafficked to celebrities. In 2008, he was convicted of soliciting a minor for prostitution, but due to a controversial plea deal with prosecutors, he served only about 13 months in prison.
In July 2019, Epstein was arrested again - federal court charged him with abusing a significantly larger number of victims. At the end of July, he was found injured in his cell after an alleged suicide attempt. On August 10, 2019, Epstein was discovered dead - the official version: suicide. However, gaps in the surveillance camera records of the detention center raised doubts about the official interpretation of the events.
The publication of the note once again brings attention to Epstein's case, which is still surrounded by questions. Despite new details, there is still no final clarity in this story, according to bb.lv.
