And in America, they are suspended for not knowing the language

Truck drivers need to pass an English proficiency test.

In the United States, 20,000 truck drivers have been suspended from work for not knowing English.

This was reported by the Secretary of Transportation Shawn Duffy. The suspension of 20,000 drivers was the result of the Donald Trump administration's campaign against illegal immigrants in freight transportation. The new English language proficiency standards for truck drivers were introduced by the Department of Transportation just under a year ago, according to the portal "Duty Officer in America."

At the same time, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration uncovered a large-scale scheme of illegal issuance of commercial licenses. More than 30 states violated the requirements for issuing licenses, with official orders sent to 26 of them, and over 28,000 licenses have been revoked nationwide.

The catalyst for this campaign was an accident that occurred in Florida in August of last year. Three people died in it. The culprit of the incident was identified as Harjinder Singh, an immigrant from India. It was revealed that before the accident, he correctly answered only 2 out of 12 questions in the language test, and then failed additional exams on signs and language. Moreover, Singh held licenses in two states. Additionally, he is accused of being in the United States illegally.
