According to U.S. Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn, around 3:30 PM, agents in plain clothes noticed a man with a weapon near the White House. They monitored him for some time and called in uniformed officers.
When the uniformed officers approached the man, he attempted to flee and then opened fire on law enforcement. In response, they used their weapons.
The suspect was hospitalized, and a minor was also injured, but their life is not in danger. Authorities continue to investigate and clarify whether the incident was related to Donald Trump.
