In the Indian state of Kerala, an elephant caused chaos during a temple festival, resulting in one man's death, reports The Sun.
The animal was brought to a Hindu temple to participate in the celebrations, but at some point, the elephant got out of control, broke free from its chains, and began to smash cars and surrounding objects. According to the publication, the disturbances lasted for about two hours while police and locals tried to calm the animal.
The victim was a 40-year-old man named Vishnu, who reportedly brought the elephant to the temple himself. Another person was injured and hospitalized. The elephant was subdued with a tranquilizer dart and tied to a coconut palm near the shrine.
