The former commander of the National Armed Forces of Latvia believes that the war has entered a phase of 'active deadlock.'
Former commander of the National Armed Forces, General Raimonds Graube, acknowledged in an interview with Latvian TV this evening that it is currently extremely difficult to make any predictions about the timeline for the end of the war in Ukraine, as the situation has reached an 'active deadlock' due to the war of technologies (drones).
"This is a grueling war, a war of attrition. Putin has nowhere to retreat, and I am sure this is the beginning of his end, and he understands this himself," Graube commented, who is confident that as the economic situation worsens, Putin will be forced to think about ending the war.
"Of course, we have already written off Russia 4 or 5 times, but it was clear that due to sanctions against a couple of banks, the Russian economy would not collapse. However, gradually the macroeconomic situation is deteriorating, the economy is cracking, and this, I hope, will accelerate the end of the war," the retired general suggested.
