A collision between two trains occurred in Indonesia near Jakarta on Monday evening, resulting in at least seven deaths and dozens of injuries, reports LETA citing AFP.
The spokesperson for the state railway operator KAI reported on Tuesday that seven people were killed and 81 were injured.
Rescue workers continued to operate at the crash site on Tuesday morning. According to the KAI spokesperson, two live individuals were still found in the wreckage.
The collision occurred when a long-distance train crashed into a stationary passenger train at the Bekasi Timur station, about 25 kilometers from Jakarta.
All the deceased were in the passenger train that was standing at the station. The train that collided with it had about 240 passengers on board, all of whom were safely evacuated.

The accident ended killing at least two people and prompting a mass evacuation effort.
