Several people were injured in the collision of two trains near Copenhagen on Thursday, LETA reported citing AFP.
According to media reports, about ten people were injured in the accident that occurred approximately 40 kilometers north of the capital between Hillerød and Kagerup.
In a statement, the police referred to it as a "serious accident," but a police representative told AFP that all passengers had been evacuated from the trains.
"There was a collision between two trains, and police and emergency services have been mobilized in large numbers," the statement said.
"It was a head-on collision, and there are injured passengers," he told AFP, without going into details.
Denmark prides itself on its safety records; however, as a result of a railway disaster in 2019, eight people died and 16 were injured.
In August of last year, an express train collided with a farm truck at a railway crossing, resulting in one death and 27 injuries.
