UAE Air Force Attacks Iran's Oil Facilities: Tehran Strikes Back

The United Arab Emirates Air Force conducted a series of massive airstrikes on key petrochemical facilities in Iran. According to Iranian media reports, the targets of the attack were oil refineries on the islands of Sirri and Lavan in the Persian Gulf.

The operation involved not only Wing Loong 2 strike drones but also multi-role Mirage 2000-9 EAD fighters. Reports indicate that UAE aircraft were spotted in the airspace over southern regions of Iran, and the operation is currently in an active phase.

The Iranian side officially confirmed the fact of the attack. An explosion at the refinery in Lavan occurred around 10:00 AM local time as a result of a "hostile attack." A large fire broke out at the facility, according to the Mehr news agency, citing the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company.

Tehran promptly began retaliatory actions. Iranian state radio and television announced missile strikes and drone launches targeting the UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain. According to an official statement from the Iranian side, these measures were a response to the "blatant violation of the ceasefire" and attacks on the islands of Sirri and Lavan, as well as in connection with the actions of the Israel Defense Forces in Lebanon.
