Budanov acknowledged the requests from unnamed countries not to strike Russia's oil facilities.

Ukraine is receiving requests from some foreign allies to stop attacking Russia's oil infrastructure, including ports, pipelines, and oil refineries. This was stated by the head of the president's office, Kirill Budanov, in a comment to Bloomberg.

He did not specify which countries are sending such signals and expressed hope that the situation in the Middle East will stabilize soon and the global hydrocarbon shortage will come to an end.

Budanov also did not clarify whether Kyiv is ready to heed these requests. The interview was dedicated to the upcoming visit of high-ranking American representatives to Kyiv in the coming days. The head of the president's office emphasized that Ukraine has made certain progress regarding security guarantees.

On the night of Sunday, April 5, drones attacked the oil refinery "Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez" in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The damage was acknowledged by the region's governor, Gleb Nikitin. Earlier this week, the governor of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, reported a fire at one of the oil refineries in Ufa following a drone strike and the fall of debris.
