Zelensky continues to visit Middle Eastern countries - this time the Ukrainian president has arrived in Syria, from where Russia recently fled.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is making his first official visit to Syria. He announced this on his Telegram channel.
"Today in Damascus. We continue our active Ukrainian diplomacy for real security and economic interaction," the politician wrote, emphasizing that every people and region deserves a peaceful life.
Reuters sources claim that negotiations with the president of the republic, Ahmad al-Sharaa, will be related to the operation of Israel and the United States in Iran and the crisis that the Middle East has found itself in following Tehran's response. It is expected that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will participate in the meeting. In a video attached to the president's message, the Turkish diplomat was seen next to him.
On Saturday, April 4, Zelensky held talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In these talks, the Turkish leader approved his colleague's desire to develop relations with the Gulf states.
Earlier, Zelensky announced the start of military cooperation between Ukraine and the UAE. In the future, Kyiv intends to sign similar agreements with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, and Kuwait.
