The President of Syria explained whose side his country is on in the conflict between the USA, Israel, and Iran

The President of Syria, Ahmad al-Sharaa, stated that Damascus is doing everything possible to keep the country out of the current escalation in the Middle East between the USA, Israel, and Iran. This was reported by Anadolu.

According to the Syrian leader, there have been no official contacts with Iran since the beginning of hostilities, and the Syrian authorities are carefully assessing the risks of the country being drawn into a regional conflict. Al-Sharaa emphasized that in making decisions, the government is guided by the interests of its citizens and seeks not to provoke confrontation with any of the parties.

He also noted that the current situation in the region is developing not based on common sense, but under the influence of emotions, anger, and unpredictable political moves. This, he said, has already led to the involvement of several states in the conflict, including countries from the Persian Gulf.

Al-Sharaa stated that Iran has faced problems due to the development of ballistic missiles and nuclear programs, as well as attempts to influence other countries. At the same time, the President of Syria emphasized that he supports a diplomatic path to resolution and believes that the continuation of the war could lead to catastrophic consequences.

He assured that Syria will maintain neutrality and remain outside the conflict unless it is subjected to direct aggression, adding that the country has already paid too high a price for past wars.
